Oleksandr Shapoval was a leading ballet dancer in Ukraine. When Russia invaded his country he immediately volunteered to defend his homeland.
On September 12, Oleksandr died in a battle in the Donetsk, leaving a wife and two children.
This song is written as a tribute to him. I was really touched that Oleksandr’s wife Tatiana contacted me to give her blessing to the song and for the use of his photos.
