On 24th August 2025, the Ukrainians in Northern Ireland marked the 34th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. Independence is a core value for each of us, and we continue to fight for it. In this struggle, every person matters — because this is a fight for what is precious to us all: a free and independent Ukraine.

On the eve of this special day, we gathered at The Jethro Centre in Lurgan to feel our Strength, Spirit, and Faith, and to thank the people of Northern Ireland for their unwavering help and support.

Once again, we proudly presented Ukrainian history, language, culture, traditions, and customs, while treating our guests to delicious, authentic Ukrainian dishes lovingly prepared by our talented hosts. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this!

Highlights of the event:

🤍 An exhibition at The Jethro Centre shared the stories of Ukrainian children and students whose lives were tragically cut short by the war started by russia.

🎬 Guests watched a film about the history of Ukraine with English subtitles.

🎨 Children enjoyed a creative area with crafts and face painting.

🛍 Visitors explored a vibrant market and purchased unique items.

🎁 Guests took part in a raffle and won wonderful prizes.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all members of the Ukrainians in Northern Ireland charity organisation, volunteers, Ukrainians, local residents, guests, and of course, the administration of The Jethro Centre.

Together we are a great power and strength!

❗ During this event, thanks to your generosity, we raised a total of £633 (£465 in cash and £168 via bank transfer). We are deeply grateful to each and every one of you who contributed.

💛🙏💙💛 Our ongoing mission: Over the past 3 years, Ukrainians in Northern Ireland have sent 8 ambulances and 2 off-road vehicles to Ukraine. We are now raising funds for the next ambulance. Every donation makes a difference and saves lives.
