🌻 Meeting with the Community Outreach Group (Shankill Parish Church, St Peter’s & St Paul’s Church) at the Jethro Centre 🇺🇦
Recently, the Ukrainian community was warmly welcomed to a heartfelt event hosted by the Community Outreach Group at the Jethro Centre. The aim of the gathering was to introduce the local community to Ukrainian culture, traditions, and history.
📽 During the event, we shared a concise yet informative presentation about Ukraine. It was followed by an engaging Q&A session, as the audience showed great interest and curiosity about our country.
🎶 A highlight of the evening was Nadya’s beautiful a cappella performance of two traditional Ukrainian songs. It was a deeply moving moment that left everyone truly impressed.
🧵 We also set up a Ukrainian cultural corner, where guests could explore traditional items such as an embroidered towel and tablecloth, Kobzar, ceremonial mace (bulava), handcrafted dolls (motanky), and more — all representing the richness of Ukrainian heritage.
🎂 To top off the evening the Ukrainian way, guests were treated to a slice of authentic Kyiv cake, which was a big hit with everyone!
We sincerely thank the Jethro centre for hosting this event, and the Community Outreach Group for the kind invitation, warm hospitality, and generous donation of £105. The funds have already been transferred to the charity Ukrainians in NI and will be used to support Ukraine. 💙💛
Thank you for the invitation and for standing with Ukraine!
