Ukraine — Part of Northern Ireland’s Multicultural Community 💙💛

Ukrainians in Northern Ireland took part in Intercultural Celebrations 2026, “One World, Many Voices,” held on 10 October at Ulster University, Belfast Campus.

The event brought together people from diverse cultural backgrounds and communities, providing a valuable opportunity to connect, exchange experiences, discover different traditions and promote mutual understanding.

At our table, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about Ukraine, its culture and traditions, explore Ukrainian souvenirs and traditional crafts, and find out more about our organisation’s work and support for Ukraine.

Throughout the event, a variety of visitors stopped by our table to meet our team, have a chat and express their support for the Ukrainian people. Among our visitors were Dr Robert Eadie, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Northern Ireland; Prof Gerard McCann, Senior Lecturer in International Studies at St Mary’s University College (Queen’s University Belfast); and a representative from CADA, along with other visitors and community representatives who showed an interest in Ukraine and expressed their solidarity with Ukrainians. We welcomed the opportunity to talk with our guests, share information about Ukraine and our organisation’s work, and take several photos to remember the occasion.

We were particularly pleased that Dr Robert Eadie, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Northern Ireland, shared a photograph from his visit on his Facebook page and tagged our organisation’s Facebook page. We sincerely appreciate this recognition of our Ukrainian community and this gesture of support for Ukraine.

Taking part in events like this helps us raise awareness of Ukraine, build relationships with other communities, connect with people who share our values and strengthen international solidarity.

We would like to thank the organisers of Intercultural Celebrations 2026 and everyone who visited our table, took the time to talk with us and expressed their support for Ukraine. Every meeting, every conversation and every act of solidarity makes a difference! 💙💛

Together, we are building a community where diversity brings us closer and mutual understanding and support make us stronger.
