Last week Their Majesties the King and Queen hosted an event at Buckingham Palace to thank representatives of the many groups who play a leading part in the UK’s contribution to humanitarian action.
Their Majesties spoke to a huge range of people from fundraisers to frontline workers, charity CEOs to refugees now building new lives in the UK.
It was a great honour for us, the Ukrainian community in Northern Ireland, to receive an invitation and attend this event in recognition of our groups significant humanitarian contribution in both supporting the Ukrainian refugee community in Northern Ireland and also in the collection and delivery of critical medical equipment and supplies for Ukraine.
It was particularly pleasing to hear the kind and hugely supporting words from the King and Queen as they took time to speak to us individually during this event.
It was also especially nice to meet and get to know other attendees at the event all of whom have made an incredible humanitarian contribution in various fields of activity. We also used the occasion to establish important contacts and discuss possible future cooperation with some of group representatives present.
Such support gives us all strength to keep moving forward and continue our critical support for Ukraine and not give up.
Thank you all for placing your trust in our group and your help in achieving our ultimate goal, that of the victory of good over evil!
