We are thrilled to introduce the Relay Team from Ukrainians in Northern Ireland who will take part in the 2026 Belfast City Marathon on Sunday, 3rd May 2026! This dedicated group of runners is ready to give it their all for a cause close to our hearts.
Last year’s marathon was a great success, and with your support, we achieved something truly special—delivering vital humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including a high-spec Land Rover Discovery vehicle to support those working in challenging and dangerous conditions. This year, our relay team is even more motivated and excited to continue supporting Ukraine and other important charity projects.
Introducing Our Team Members
Our relay team consists of an inspiring group of runners who come together from different backgrounds and experiences but share one common goal: to make a difference. Here’s a look at the incredible individuals who will represent our charity this year:
- Kateryna Bidolenko – volunteer for Ukrainians in Northern Ireland;
- Lauren McGeown – previously being a College student, she took part in the Dublin marathon, during which she raised funds to help with humanitarian assistance in Ukraine, and which she handed over to the Ukrainians in Northern Ireland;
- Dr Volodymyr Shentsov – volunteer for Ukrainians in Northern Ireland;
- Gleb Burym – volunteer for Ukrainians in Northern Ireland;
- Dr Vitaliy Ostropytskyy – volunteer for Ukrainians in Northern Ireland;
Each member brings unique strength, determination, and enthusiasm to the team. We are incredibly proud to have such passionate individuals who are willing to challenge themselves for a greater purpose.
Why We Run
As a team, we are running to continue supporting Ukraine and other vital humanitarian projects that benefit people in need. Every mile we run is a step closer to making a positive impact, and your support makes that possible.
