Today, on 28th of June 2024, Ukraine celebrates a national holiday – the Constitution Day. Ukrainian State Basic Law was adopted in 1996 at the 5th session of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s parliament) of Ukraine of the 2nd convocation.
Ukraine’s Constitution begins with this important article:
Article 1. Ukraine is a sovereign and independent, democratic, social, law-based state.
The Constitution of Ukraine is the most important state document that defines the rights, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.
On this day, we want to remember and thank those who continue to fight daily for truly democratic values and for their free and independent state.
