The Independence Day of Ukraine is an event that unites millions of Ukrainians around the world. Every year on August 24, we celebrate this important date, which symbolizes freedom, sovereignty and national pride for the Ukrainian people. On this day, we remember the history of our country, honor our heroes and dream of a bright future for our people.

During the years of the great war, which russia brutally started, the independence of Ukraine became even more important for us than ever.

Thank you to our defenders of Ukraine for your courage and dedication, which impressed us all! Thanks to you, we have the opportunity to continue to mark the Independence Day of Ukraine. You stand on the front line of defence of our homeland, ready to defend our rights and freedom under any circumstances. Thank you for your impeccable service and loyalty. Your dedication and self-sacrifice set us all an example of how to fight for our independence and dignity. You preserve our free future at the cost of your own health and life, gratitude to you will be expressed by more than one generation of Ukrainians!

We are grateful to everyone who helped, helps and continues to help Ukraine despite all the difficulties. We are grateful to everyone who supports and does not forget about Ukraine on its thorny path to victory and complete freedom. World, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Now the Independence Day of Ukraine is the goal of every conscious Ukrainian and we believe that one day we will celebrate the victory with everyone who was by our side and helped to win our common victory of good over evil!

Just one thing we would like to ask everyone: please don’t give up, don’t stop even then, we will definitely win together!

For today, we have to limit the holding of mass events, for the sake of everyone’s safety.

On August 25, 2024, our community takes part in the MELA festival in Belfast, Botanical Garden: https://belfastmela.org.uk/events/mela-day-2/

This is another opportunity to meet and convey to others the value of the Ukrainian nation: https://ukrainiansni.org.uk/sunday-25th-august-2024-botanic-gardens-belfast-will-host-the-belfast-mela-festival/

If you are planning to attend the Belfast MELA festival on 25th August 2024, you can join us in creating a ‘Chain of Unity’ at 1pm.

Only together we are strong!

Together to victory!

Sincerely,

Ukrainians in Northern Ireland

Greetings from Alan Moore, Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland:

My dear Ukrainian friends, my name is Alan Moore and I have the honour of having recently been appointed as Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland in order to support your Consular staff in promoting Ukraine’s interest here in Northern Ireland.

As importantly I am here to also support Ukrainian citizens where they require assistance relating to local issues.

Within my new role I hope over the coming weeks and months to have the opportunity of meeting many of you directly as I get out and about throughout Northern Ireland.

Today I am also mindful that on Saturday 24th August, we will mark the anniversary of Ukrainian Independence and I just wanted to take the opportunity to wish all of you who reside in Northern Ireland, and also your families back in Ukraine, all the very best for your National day.

I also fervently hope and pray for Ukraine’s early victory over evil and for peace and prosperity to come again to your nation and I will continue to stand with you all until this is achieved.

Finally in your language may I say to you these important words for all of us “Slava Ukraini!” …..”Heroyam Slava”

Greetings from Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom (Embassy of Ukraine to the UK, London), General Valerii Zaluzhnyi:
